Care Tips

This cutting board was handcrafted specially for you. It may have some intentional imperfections — that's the natural beauty of handmade work. The finishing product used is made in the USA with ultra-pure, premium Food Safe / FDA Food Contact Safe ingredients, certified Vegetarian by the American Vegetarian Association.

Cleaning Clean your board after every use to prevent bacteria from growing. Scrub with a sponge and dish detergent under the hottest water you can stand. Store the board on its edge — not flat — to prevent warping. Do not place in a dishwasher or soak in water. The board may warp or crack.

Disinfecting Mix one tablespoon of bleach per gallon of water and flood the surface of an already-clean board. Allow the solution to stand for several minutes before washing and drying.

Deodorizing Sprinkle coarse sea salt all over the board and let it sit overnight to draw out lingering bacteria. Cut a lemon in half and use each piece to scrub the salt around the board, juicing as you go. Let the lemon juice and salt mixture sit for 5–10 minutes, then wipe away with a damp cloth.

Refreshing with Oil Oil your board regularly — weekly, monthly, or every few months, depending on use — to maintain its surface and keep it from drying out. A well-cared-for wooden board will last you for years.
