Koshur Chaan makes handcrafted edge-grain cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and serving boards from black walnut, hard maple, and cherry for kitchens throughout Georgia. Each board is made individually in Johns Creek after an order is confirmed and finished with food-grade mineral oil and beeswax. Boards start at $50, and custom boards take at least two weeks.

The process
How a board is made

Wood selection.
Each board starts with walnut, maple or cherry lumber, checked for straight grain, knots and cracks before it is cut.

Milling and glue-up.
Strips are milled flat and square, then glued with food-safe wood glue under even clamping pressure.

Hand sanding.
Every surface is sanded through progressive grits, from 80 up to 220, until it is smooth to the touch.
4
Oiling.
Three to four coats of food-grade mineral oil, each allowed to soak in fully, then a coat of beeswax board butter.
Before a custom board ships, you get a photo of it.

Small Board — 4 x 12 in
From $50. For quick prep, a small cheese board or a handmade gift. Walnut, hard maple or cherry, 3/4 to 1 inch thick.
Everyday Prep Board — about 10 x 15 in
From $120. A comfortable size for everyday chopping and preparing meals. Choose walnut, hard maple, cherry or a striped mix.
Serving Board — about 10 x 18 in
From $180. For bread, cheese, fruit and shared plates. Finger grips, handles or a juice groove can be included in your quote.

Pickup and shipping
I offer pickup by appointment in Johns Creek, Georgia, or shipping within the U.S. Each shipped board is packed with care instructions, and I send a photo of the finished board before it ships. Shipping is calculated for each order. I compare USPS and UPS and choose the best option for speed and cost.

Meet the maker
Built by hand,
made with purpose
Wosta (Ishtyaq Qadri) founded Koshur Chaan in 2015. By day he is a healthcare provider caring for veterans. In the shop he brings the same habits: patience, attention to detail, and no shortcuts where it matters.
“Koshur Chaan” means “Kashmiri carpenter.” The name honors Maam Kol, a carpenter in his family, and the Kashmiri woodworking tradition he grew up around.
